Fl4k is a wandering robot on a quest of self-discovery through the stars. While their robotic heart feels a connection to the animal kingdom, Fl4k find the social constructs of humans confusing. As Fl4k’s Beastmaster title suggests, they are accompanied by three loyal animal companions - a skag, spiderant and jabber. On this page: As you spend Skill Points, you’ll be able to unlock Action Skill Augments that will add extra features to your chosen Action Skill. Fl4k can have two Action Skill Augments equipped at one time. Fl4k can also have one of their pets accompanying them at all times. Your choice of pets are the Jabber Sidekick, Spiderant Centurion and Guard Skag. Each skill tree will allow you to upgrade to two different versions of each pet, such as the Beefcake Jabber. Each new pet you unlock has a new ability, increased Movement Speed for example, that help you tackle the bandits of Pandora. New versions of your chosen pet will replace the one you currently have equipped. There are also a number of abilities, such as Hidden Machine and Overclocked, that allow you to up the damage that Fl4k can inflict by either increasing their Weapon Damage or Fire Rate. The pet for the Stalker Skill Tree is the Jabber. This feisty creature can be upgraded to hold a Shotgun and, later, an SMG, while also boosting Fl4k’s Maximum Health. The Jabber is a good combination of a support allie and an offensive one; providing fire power when needed, but also attacking as a healer when things get tough. The Lick the Wounds ability is very useful, because it offers the Jabber a chance to revive Fl4k during a Fight for Your Life. (If you’ve played a previously Borderlands game, you know how annoying these bats can be.) Not only can you give these bats the ability to deal Elemental Damage, but you can add to your Rakk collection with the Flock ‘N Load ability. The Spiderant Centurion is the pet of choice for this skill tree. Like the Jabber, it partly acts like a healer - allowing Fl4k to constantly regenerate health, while it attacks their enemies. The Spiderant pet, however, also has the ability to deal Elemental Damage to your enemies, depending on which direction you decide to take it. The Spiderant Countess ability allows the Spiderant to deal Corrosive Damage, while also surprising your enemies by attacking them from underground. If you’re a pet fan then this is the skill tree for you. Like all of the Skags in Borderlands, Fl4k’s pet Skag is focused on causing as much hard as physically possible. Great Horned Skag increases Fl4k’s Gun Damage and gives the Skag the ability to knock enemies into the air. The Skag can also gain the ability to regenerate its own health, thanks to the Mutated Defences ability. When the Skag is low on health, this ability will allow it to heal itself, with the only downside being that it will cause less damage. Action Skill for the Master Skill Tree - Gamma Burst - creates a Rift to a target location, teleporting Fl4k’s pet through to deal Radiation Damage to nearby enemies

You have the ability to let your pets loose on a group of enemies and can apply various upgrades to make them even more deadly. The Spiderant pet, for example, can be upgraded to deal Incendiary, fire, damage to nearby enemies. What Fl4k has, which Mordecai doesn’t, is a range of pets. This means if it turns out that you don’t like the Jabber anymore, you can always reset your Skill Points and try out the Spiderant or the Skag.
