This can only go smoothly…” Splicing, did you say? Well, yes, yes I did! In Let’s Build a Zoo, players can quite literally mix things up during any given playthrough. On its console release, new players will be able to exhibit a whole myriad of unusual beings....

Since then I have been very lucky with regards to the Gwent Impulse. Is this a trend? I hope so. When I say very lucky, I mean that I played two games over the weekend and they both turned out to have secondary games tucked within them. The first is Boneraiser Minions, a worryingly compelling auto-battler in the style of Vampire Survivors. Bloober Team shared the news in a blog post earlier today, where the company announced it had signed a cooperation agreement with Polish visual arts complany Platige Image to bring its game to a new medium (see what I did there). This upcoming adaptation will be helmed by Tomasz Bagiński, whose resume includes Netflix’s The Witcher. Meanwhile, Bloober Team’s Piotr Babieno will work alongside Bagiński bringing this adaptation to life....

The mop-up has many forms. For me, somewhat uncreatively, it’s the task of completing a “living ‘dex” in Pokémon - catching one of every Pokémon ever released and storing them all, in order, in one place, including all the many different forms and stages of each evolution. This makes it a bit more long-winded than completing a regular regional or national Pokédex, because you couldn’t just catch, say, one Abra and then evolve it into Kadabra, then Alakazam, crossing off all three at once - you need one of each in your possession simultaneously....

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will take centre stage in a dedicated Nintendo Direct broadcast due to take place this Wednesday 22nd June at 3pm UK time. The presentation is set to last 20 minutes, and be focused squarely on Monolith Soft’s Switch-exclusive role-playing game set to launch worldwide on 29th July. Is this the only Nintendo Direct we’re due in the near future? It sure would be nice to hear from the company on its plans for game releases over the second half of 2022....

Yesterday, two videos appeared on Reddit showing a game in which a top-ranked Apex Legends player was knocked down, only for the server to then mysteriously crash. How convenient. When the legitimate players reconnected to the server, they found themselves knocked down - and could see the suspicious duo standing over them. The offending fourth and sixth-ranked players were then accused of carrying out a DDoS attack once they started losing in order to get an easy win....

The hotly-anticipated strategy game was due out late 2021. “We know this is disappointing, but the extra time means we can accomplish more than we could if we rushed to release this year,” the UK studio said in a statement. “The wait won’t be much longer, and we’ll have plenty of new information in the meantime. Marvel’s Avengers developer Crystal Dynamics tweeted detailed instructions to help confused customers after it emerged both the PS4 and the PS5 versions of the game had to be downloaded and fully updated in order get the save transfer to work, and that transferring the save data via PlayStation Plus cloud storage was impossible. Here’s what you have to do: first off, you’ve got to launch the fully-patched PS4 version of Marvel’s Avengers and go to the save migration tab on the main menu to initiate the upload....

“We have indefinitely suspended President Trump’s Twitch channel due to the ongoing risk of further incitement of violence,” Twitch said in a statement to IGN. “The President’s statements continue to be interpreted as calls to action, and we are taking this action to remove the potential for harm to our community and the general public.” It seems Twitch intends to initiate wider change on the platform, however, and will be making further changes to its policies to clamp down on violent rhetoric....

At least two firms are eyeing up Ubisoft ahead of a potential future offer, Bloomberg has reported, though “serious negotiations” are yet to take place. These companies include Blackstone and KKR & Co., two of the world’s largest in the takeover market. In a subsequent Kotaku report, sources suggested Ubisoft has been quietly auditing parts of its business over the past year - a potential sign it may be readying itself for a future suitor....

The company said Siege, which has over 70 million registered players, is getting significant core gameplay changes over the course of this year, as well as new tools to encourage positive behaviour. Season two introduces an operator from the Nakoda Nations and a rework of the map Favela....

Ubisoft originally announced that 15 titles that would be affected by the move: Anno 2070, Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed 3, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Driver San Francisco, Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Rayman Legends, Silent Hunter 5, Space Junkies, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and ZombiU. The precise effects of decommissioning depend on the game, but ranged from the removal of multiplayer modes, online features, and DLC to being unable to access the game at all....

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, a new turn-based tactics game in the vein of XCOM, coming 5th May, will let you fire it, and is actually the first 40K game to feature it as a proper mechanic. The central premise here is that a plague called the Bloom has broken out across a series of planets, thanks to Nurgle, the Chaos “Plague Lord” whose MO is being gross on a large scale....

The early access survival game, made by a team of five people at Iron Gate Studio, hit the 4m mark earlier today - with the dev team once again thanking the player base for their support. “I don’t think I have really had time to contemplate it,” said Iron Gate CEO Richard Svensson. “I know that players like the game a lot, but at the same time I think that I can make something even better in the future....
