The issue first popped up on the game’s subreddit, with dozens of players complaining that items had been “auto-purchased” when previewing them in Fall Guys’ in-game store. Other issues included Show Bucks going mysteriously missing, hidden key bindings triggering purchases, items being switched after selection, and “a lot of players” finding that they inexplicably have “less currency now”. Initially, the game’s support team was unwilling to make refunds and pointed players to its refund policy which insists all cosmetic purchases are final....

The news isn’t hugely surprising, of course; Epic Games acquired Mediatonic in 2021, and while the developer insisted Fall Guys would “remain available on Steam” at the time, the money was on it following a similar trajectory to Rocket League - which ended up ditching Steam in favour of the Epic Games Store after it went free-to-play following an acquisition by Epic. As so here we are; as of 21st June, when Fall Guys is delisted on Steam, new players will only be able to access the game by download its launcher on the Epic Games Store....

Developer Mediatonic first acknowledged the issues yesterday afternoon, in a fashionably Fall Guys-style tweet. Late last night, things seemed to be improving, with more players able to get into game. But still there were “teething issues”, as servers were flooded with new players across PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. But this morning it appears some players are still facing matchmaking problems. Epic acquired Mediatonic last year and has since slowly integrated Fall Guys into Epic’s ecosystem....

That’s according to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb who, speaking in the latest episode of his Giantbomb show Grubbsnax (as spotted and transcribed by VGC), revealed, “This is very early, but people have begun to have talks and say these words in sentences, and these words are ‘Obsidian’ and ‘New Vegas 2’”. Grubb added, “A lot of people at Microsoft think that this could work and there’s a lot of interest to make it happen....

This next round of additions starts tomorrow with Signs of the Sojourner and Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas, both of which are for console, cloud and PC. The former is a narrative card game about connecting people. The latter is a party game about disconnecting bits of people. Both are worth a fair shake. The early access Craftopia will also become available tomorrow for cloud, console and PC, while Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 13 arrives for console and PC....

In fact, according to a new interview with IGN, it was his love of EverQuest that led to the development of Final Fantasy 11 - the series’ first foray into online gaming. “My first [MMORPG] was EverQuest. Incredibly, most of them got hooked too, which led to [Final Fantasy 11],” he said....

For those unfamiliar with the series, the gist is this - Fire Emblem is a tactical role-playing game. Battles are fought across a series of map broken up into a grid around which players can move their units. You’ll build up your characters between battles while working your way through the main campaign. It’s wickedly addictive and the series has long been respected as a result. With Fire Emblem Engage, Intelligent Systems returns to some of the series more traditional concepts with a fantasy-driven story spread across multiple continents serving as the game’s framework as opposed to the almost Persona-esque school system of Three Houses....

Fully explorable, it’s here that players will prepare for battle, date allies, and polish rings. Collecting rings is the main feature of Fire Emblem Engage, with each ring relating to a past character from the series and providing new abilities. In the Ring Chamber of the Somnium, players can view the rings they’ve collected and communicate with emblems to inherit skills, create and meld together bond rings to receive a boost to stats, and “deepen your bonds with emblems by polishing their rings after they’ve been tarnished in battle”....

But this Monkey Island-like game has something else going for it that made my ears prick up. Not only is it described as a “merry and macabre point and click adventure game” by its developers, but it also happens to have Jonathan Ackley (Curse of Monkey Island’s co-director) giving it his seal of approval. Colour me interested! The game in question is Foolish Mortals, and it comes from the minds at Inklingwood Studios - you can see a teaser for it below....

This challenge is only available during Week 6 of this season, and you don’t need to do anything specific to unlock it, as it becomes automatically available in-game. The particularity is that it comes with three possible locations to complete it. But we found the second option to be the most straightforward, which we’ll explain in detail below. This involves a number of steps - from finding the Huntmaster to getting helicopter parts scattered around the map. From there, it’s all a matter of surviving against primal beasts and armed guards for a chance to repair the choppa and escape the island. Completing this Fortnite mode will reward you with an exclusive umbrella and loading screen, but bear in mind you only have a limited amount of time before the event ends to do so....

Since the IO have built themselves something with obvious doomsday device vibes, it’s time for The Seven and their allies to fight back. (Again.) For this reason, you need to complete all of the Resistance challenges from the past week to unlock this challenge. Completing this challenge will reward you with 23k XP, which will help you unlock new skins and other rewards from this season’s Battle Pass. Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed....

Chapter 3 Season 3, subtitled as “Vibin’”, offers a more relaxed aesthetic, with the Island’s survivors celebrating their hard-won victory with a party. Last season’s underground base is now a giant rave cavern, with a rollercoaster you can ride using the game’s returning Baller vehicles (think those spheres from Jurassic World). A large chunk of the Island has also been transformed into a punk-fantasy jungle, with an enormous bioluminescent tree you can scamper around....

This Fortnite challenge sees you travelling to the various bomb craters created by the battle between the IO and the Seven with the aim of bringing back some natural life to these areas. Completing this challenge will reward you with 20k XP, which will help you unlock more skins from this season’s battle pass. Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. F1 Manager 2022, which launched at the end of August, is the first of four games planned for release under Frontier’s new F1 licensing deal. It put players in the role of a team principal, challenging them to lead their “drivers, engineers and fans to glory in the 2022 FIA Formula 1 Drivers’ World Championship and FIA Formula 1 Constructors’ World Championship”.
