The Division 2’s Patch 1.31 (as it appears on the PS5 front-end) came out hot on the heels of our coverage and essentially sorts out all of the issues we had with it - namely, screen-space reflections and volumetric fog are back. Looking back, this was likely an oversight from developer Massive Entertainment at the time; a simple flag for these settings that went unchecked. However, it’s clear that legacy limitations from PS4 Pro are still in place - there’s a vanishingly small performance advantage here opposite Xbox Series X, but it comes at the cost of a lower resolution on PS5....
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, a collaboration between Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and developer nDreams, promises to unleash an “extensive and engrossing” spirit-bothering adventure playable either solo or co-operatively with up to three friends. It also waves goodbye to the series’ traditional home of New York City and makes the jump to San Franciso, taking players on a tour of some familiar sights - including the Golden Gate Bridge - as they attempt to thwart the titular Ghost Lord and his army of malevolent spirits....
Sony’s 2018 reboot of the series, set in Norse mythology, has been listed on Steam with a release date of 14th January 2022, priced at £39.99. The release comes just in time for God of War: Ragnarok, due on PlayStation consoles some time in 2022. Recommended system requirements are yet to be listed, but the game will require 80GB of disk space. The PC version will have 4K support and an unlocked framerate, as well as graphical presets and options, and 21:9 ultra-widescreen support....

Since its early noughties heyday Sony’s flagship driving series has been many other things, but it’s never really enjoyed quite the same status. Gran Turismo 5 was an awkward, unwieldy and never fully convincing shuffle into the HD era; with Gran Turismo 6 we got a flabby, unfocussed thing that ushered players all the way from the Goodwood hillclimb to the surface of the moon. Its breadth was thrilling, although the countless rough edges to be found in between were often frustrating....

Those optimisations appear to go as far as updating older titles. Valve has released a beta update for Half-Life 2 that gives the game’s user interface a facelift. Spotted by Twitter user gabefollower, the new UI appears a lot more joystick friendly, but also has the added benefit of scaling better on high-resolution displays (seriously, try launching the game on a modern display, the menus are tiny!). Gabefollower has also helpfully given instructions on how to access the beta if you want to try it out yourself: just enter the properties window for the game on Steam, select “beta updates” in the Beta tab, and add “-gamepadui” under Launch Options....
Season 2 will introduce several significant additions to multiplayer in Halo Infinite, including new modes and maps, as well as a new Battle Pass and unlocks to work towards. While a lot of it appears to be business as usual for God of War (Kratos still has his Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos, and Atreus retains his beloved bow and arrow), an accompanying write-up details some new combat additions, including Weapon Signature Moves. These are activated by holding or mashing the triangle button during combat, infusing Kratos’ weapons with ice or fire depending on your currently equipped weapon - the axe becomes imbued with Frost Awaken with the Blades of Chaos get Whiplash - doing extra damage by either freezing or incinerating foes....
