Photo mode will be available as an option from the pause screen mission computer, BioWare technical design director Brenon Holmes said - which suggests it’ll be available during gameplay at all times, but not during cut-scenes. Last night, Mass Effect boss Mac Walters revealed the mode on Twitter with a moody monochrome shot of Garrus standing next to the Mako in Mass Effect 1. Holmes later confirmed the mode would be accessible across all three Mass Effect trilogy games, and supported on all of the remaster’s various platforms....

The Xbox Wireless Headset is designed to deliver “long-lasting comfort” and “customisability”, Microsoft said. As you’d expect, it is designed to work anywhere you can play Xbox games: on Xbox One, Series X/S, Windows 10 PCs and mobile devices. In an opinion article on the deal published in the Wall St Journal, Microsoft president Brad Smith committed to making its 10-year COD contract “legally enforceable by regulators in the US, UK and European Union” - territories in which the company was previously felt to be struggling to get its acquisition agreed without making some sort of concessions. The majority of the opinion piece repeats the same arguments for the deal we’ve heard from Microsoft many times before - that it would be good for both consumers and game developers, and that Microsoft is still struggling in a sector where it is “stuck behind Sony’s dominant PlayStation and the Nintendo Switch”....
The newly revealed Xbox controllers come in two varieties. There’s the “high-energy” yellow Electric Volt - which will cost $64.99 USD when it releases on 27th April - and the red, grey, and black Daystrike Camo, which comes with a $69.99 USD price tag and 4th May launch date. Microsoft is keen to point out these aren’t just new colour variants, however; it also draws attention to some production changes that, it says, continues the company’s efforts toward becoming “more sustainable across the Xbox product lifecycle”....
While Microsoft has not yet commented on his departure, an internal email sent on Tuesday and seen by Geek Wire confirmed Kipman’s exit, framing it as a company restructure. Activision Blizzard has, of course, been the focus of months of disturbing allegations surrounding its workplace culture following the launch of a State of California lawsuit calling the company a “breeding ground for harassment and discrimination against women” - made all the more unsettling after a damning Wall Street Journal report claimed Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick had been aware of the allegations of sexual misconduct and mistreatment of female employees across many parts of the company “for years”....
The Minecraft: PC Bundle includes both the Java and Bedrock Editions, it was announced during the Minecraft Live event. There’s cross-play via Windows 10, Windows 11 and consoles, and you can quickly switch between the different editions from the unified Minecraft Launcher. Now, it has emerged the studio behind Myth of Empires has launched legal proceedings aimed at getting its strategy game back on sale. A lawsuit filed with the US District Court of California shows Myth of Empires developer Angela Game is seeking a jury trial to decide it did not infringe copyright or steal trade secrets, with both Ark developer Snail Games and publisher Wildcard named as defendants (thanks, MMOFallout)....
Known as Mr Dotman, he was responsible most famously for the sprites in Galaga. The news was shared in a statement on his official Twitter page, stating he passed on the 16th October after a long illness. Ono joined Namco in 1979 and was involved in the graphic design for some of the company’s best-loved arcade cabinets, including Pac-Man. He then went on to design the sprites for the likes of Galaga, Dig Dug, Xevious and Mappy....
I believe potions are a staple of any fantasy game experience. Try thinking of one without them - I can’t (don’t think too hard just in case you do).
